Life is messy. Love makes life beautiful.

Storytelling, creativity & fun are at the heart of my practice & home. I am an experienced companion & attentive guide with you in seasons of joy & sorrow, sickness & health and anything along the way.

Hi, I’m Kayla

Love brings us together. It’s an honor that you’d invite me to share in a small part of your story, as we begin here’s a little bit of mine.

Small town roots & big city experience.

I’m the daughter of a roofer, raised by a single mother, and a first generation college graduate that left the comfort of the Midwest for a Washington DC adventure at 22.

Longing to live somewhere beautiful, my family made the move to Charlottesville in 2019, just in time to wait out the pandemic on a goat farm.

Love who you love.

I’m a gather of people and a collector of stories - usually around the table for tacos.

While I have a master’s degree in spiritual formation from an Evangelical Quaker seminary, my theological home is in the Presbyterian Church (USA). All are welcome, always.

As a survivor of postpartum depression and abuse, I’m experienced in the often too slow process of grief, healing and learning to hope again. Also, the medication is working.

A happy couple laughing outdoors, with the woman touching the man's chest, in a field with a fence and trees in the background.

Rest, play & connect.

I’m a contemplative extrovert, who loves meeting new people and yet, I’ve learned the gift of a simple and small life.

As a pastor, shepherdess and mother, I am tending and caring first to the light of love within, while also answering the door at 9am, 3pm and 6pm for kiddos asking for popsicles & play.

No one makes me giggle like my husband Greg of 16 years, and if you take me on a walk, I will talk about birds.

Spiritual but not religious.

Understanding that there more than a million ways to fall in love, so are there ways to live a meaningful life.

I am a follower of Jesus, making space for curiosity, mystery & doubt. Hospitality is at the heart of my practice & home because it’s a gift to be welcomed & wanted.
